There are many opportunities for those who would like to volunteer their time to support the theater. Never worked in a theater before? As long as you are willing to learn, and are comfortable working with the public, we will train you.

Volunteer Positions

Usher

Take tickets, answer questions such as location of restrooms. Know facts about the play such as running time, the timing of intermission, the last date of play. Ensure accommodation of patrons with special needs. Notify the audience of the beginning and end of intermission Maintain contact with the box office and lobby regarding when the theater is open for seating and the number of available seats.


Stage Manager

Attend rehearsals. Assist the director, costumer, light and sound staff with the rehearsal process and productions. Identify and organize props. Respond to actors concerns about props and costumes. Follow the Stage Manager Plan, assuring that props are ready, appropriately set or in the hands of the actor preparing to enter the stage. Alert actors at designated intervals prior to the start of the performance. Alert actors to scene changes and their readiness to take the stage. Other duties as assigned by the Director.


Box Office Staff

Before a performance, sell tickets and issue will call/online tickets, using the computer to document all sales. Maintain contact with the usher regarding time of opening the theater for seating and the availability of seats. After the performance starts, count cash. Then reconcile the cash, on-line and credit card sales with ticket stubs. Sell concessions during intermission. Follow box office procedures for arrival time, documentation for sales; and counting and securing cash. 


Set Builder

Are you handy with the jigsaw or paint brush? Help bring our stage designs to life and assist in creating the sets for our productions!


Lights/Sound Staff

Attend play rehearsals. Learn light and sound cues recorded in the script. During performances, focus on the play and operate equipment to provide required light and sound cues. Volunteers are given complimentary admission to productions.


Brand Ambassadors

Join us at community events like family festivals, art shows and fundraisers to share more about Celebration Arts with neighbors and potential patrons!
